Greetings From The Future

1-Just in case you're wondering, it looks, smells and tastes like every other Starbucks in the world.
2-Look how far we are from Seattle! Playing tourist in my own town.
3-Flax in bloom on the estuary track.
4-Poppies in bloom on the estuary track.
5-Cabbage trees in bloom on the estuary track.

It's rather fun being a whole year ahead of the rest of the world (for a few hours anyway). It feels so futuristic. Ha! I can see the future from here and it's going to be bright...

Happy 2008. I'm starting the year with brown hair, enthusiasm for our upcoming two months of travel, excitement about our unknown jobs and whereabouts after March, feeling healthy and happy. I'm amazed that our year in New Zealand is already up. We leave Invercargill on Sunday. There's a lot about NZ that we'll miss, and there's a lot we're looking forward to about going back to North America. Have I mentioned my recent cravings for a US grocery store and outlet shopping?

Here's hoping that 2008 is a little calmer, a little less chaotic, and a lot more peaceful in the world.
